When I arrived at the Ashworth home everyone seemed excited but apprehensive about what to expect from me, their photographer, and I never really know how each family will be. But when we got out to their beautiful back yard and started chatting, and laughing, and really having some fun.... I knew this photo session was going to be great!!!!  Thanks for a great time and awesome photo ops! :D

Mother Nature's Goodness!

Wow, every time I drove by these flowers, the photographer in my heart couldn't bear it any more.  It was in the front yard of a house that's been vacant for months, so after church,  I dragged my kids out in the soggy, wet grass to take advantage of mother nature's goodness!!! :D   You don't see the crushed oreo cookies under the fingernails of Brookie, or the socks I made Hannah take off to wet and clean the cookies off their faces... or the potty dance Emily was doing the whole time, or the gigglling the kids did every time I squatted down and could see my underpants.  The shoot took about 15 minutes of chaos, coldness, wetness, a little bit of crying, and complaining..... but it was worth it!!! :D

Photo Mom Workshop Continued...

The Photo-Mom Workshop was a big sucess! My favorite part of the workshop?  When some of the ladies said - "Oh, now I know how to do that!"  And I just got an e-mail from one mom who dares to go manual now! Way to go Rachel!!! :D

Spring Has Sprung!!!

Wedding Consultation

I met with Kendal and her mom last night for their consultation.  The wedding consultation is SO important because that's where we chat about the actual details of the day, timeline and family photos.  This all gets done ahead of time, so there's no guessing on the day of the wedding.  I found out from Kendal that they're going to have a vintage getaway car, a very large bridal party and they may use ribbons for the send off.  I LOVE IT!!! :D  I also love the consult because I can get to know my bride more so we can be even more happy to see each other on the big day!! Hahah!  Can't wait Kendal!!! :D

You Don't Need a Fancypants Camera!

These were taken at the Paris Mountain Photography "Photo Mom" Workshop for a 20 minute photo session we did with baby Jackson! What a great Model!!! Oh, and for the workshop I was only using my Nikon D50 to demonstrate that you don't need a fancypants pro camera, or lens to take great photos! :D

One Shot Wonder For Your Weekend!

I love to look at the moon.  Most of us think about the man in the moon, but my mom told me in Japan when they look at the moon they see a rabbit making yummy rice treats.  So, when I look at the moon, that's what I see.  I hope my mother's people in Japan can someday look at the moon and still think of yummy rice treats. 

I took this photo last month after visiting the Tellus Museum in Cartersville.  Looking at the craters through their observatory was amazing, so I got out my 200mm to see what I could get.  :D

Book a Photo Playdate!!!

Another package option has been added!!!  I sometimes get requests to travel to a location that may be out of my area so I charge a travel fee depending on the distance.  I have decided to incorporate a package I call "Photo Playdate."  If you and some of your friends wanted to have a photo session (family, engagement, children etc.) we would set it up on the same day and same house or same general location and book them consecutively.  This would give me the opportunity to reach out to more people outside of my normal area, and you would save on the travel costs and $50 off each full session fee as well! :D 

So if you are needing portraits done, get two or more of your friends together and book a "Photo Playdate!!!"

New Mini Session Packages!

I decided to offer ongoing mini session packages so I can optimize my time and be more available for all of you! :D  The mini session would be for 1/2 hour at a location and time that corresponds with another session that I already have booked. That way you get a better deal with the mini session and I don't have to worry about traveling more.  So it's a win-win! :D  The session is $75 and you can purchase one of the new "Print Packages" that have I added to my rates page.  Or you can purchase the CD release for $107, which ends up about $130 less than my normal rate for a full session.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you'd like to book a mini session!  And I'm sorry for all of the smiley faces!! :D

Mini Session in Rome

In Amy's mini session Saturday, she told me that her boys, "Never behave that well for pictures."  But with me, they were great!  I have three kids, so I KNOW that kids are usually better for others than their parents, but Amy was really speechless to see how good the boys were in our photo session.  I take that as a compliment, Thank You Very Much! I guess I have a way with kids.....maybe because I kinda act like one too! :D 

Jamee & Alan

I was Sooo excited to see Jamee and Alan almost 3 years after I shot their wedding and it was like it was just yesterday!  The best memory I have of their wedding is actually when she booked me nearly a year in advance in 2007 and told me she HAD to book me before anyone else got me.  It was one of the first times I felt like someone wanted me to shoot their wedding because they liked ME and not just because I was cheap! :D  Thanks so much for a great time yesterday!!!! :D

My Second Shooter!

Since Aryn's wedding was held at our church and my girls were there for Aryn's wedding, I went ahead and gave them one of my backup cameras and here's a shot that Hannah got.  Great Job Hannah!  :D  They will be one of my AP's in no time!!!



Aryn + Zack = Married!

Aryn is very special to me because my two oldest daughters adore her, and she's always been a great example of what a fine young woman should be.  So it was very exciting for them to get to go to their first wedding, and Aryn was the bride!  They even got to take a picture or two at the recetption! :D    Congratulations!!!!

Suzanne + Andrew

It has been almost three years since I shot Suzanne and Andrew's wedding in North Georgia!  My favorite memory from that day is that it rained most of the day, but rather than move the ceremony from the gorgeous garden, to the pavillion, Suzanne insited we stay despite the rain.... then, just as she stepped out to walk down the isle... the rain stopped and the clouds parted.  It was like something out of a movie! 

I was very excited to get to shoot their photo session last week and catch up.  They haven't changed a bit and it felt like just yesterday I was taking their wedding pictures!!! :D



E-Session

There are a few reasons why Jarett + Jared's special day is going to be wedding-tastick!  Their wedding is in Maui, Hawaii!!!!  They are gorgeous!!!!! I LOOOOOOVE her dress!!!!  They're going to do a "day-after" session on the beach... OH! I can go on and on and on!!!!  Most of all, the best part of the wedding is.... she's my BESTest friend!!! YAY!!! I can't even describe how excited I am!!! :D
